We’re just over a week away from leaving for NOLA.  St. G’s has a strong connection with New Orleans.  Our first trip there was in 2006 less than a year after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city.  For me, this will be my first outreach trip with our high school students and my first time visiting New Orleans.  As yet, we do not know what we will be working on, but I assume it will be some type of construction project through Project Homecoming.  If you would like more information about our host organization check them out at

Sometimes I wish I could be more prolific with my blog posts.  I find it difficult to keep up with all of the social media that I have attached myself to.  So I ask the question:  Why do we spend so much of our time trying to make a “virtual connection” with people when people are standing next to you on the train, in your office, at the coffee shop or, even, the grocery store?
